DataBasics supports MS Office 2003/2007/2010. While all software is supported, typically DataBasics provides application development in Access, Excel, Outlook and Word.
VBA - Visual Basic for Applications, is the programming language embedded within MS Office. Macros are limited examples of automating tasks with VBA. VBA can dramatically increase productivity by executing repetitive, time-consuming steps. If an application has consistent, logical work processes, VBA can perform those tasks for you. Logon to an external data source, retrieve selected data, integrate into existing spreadsheets/databases, analyze and programmatically prepare charts and reports, email to required recipients - in seconds, with a single mouse click.
Access. Why Access? Access has taken more than it's fair share of punches over the years, yet it remains a very powerful, reliable and effective tool in any size organization. If you need a relational database Access may be right for you. It comes standard with Office Professional Edition, and is on most workers desktops right now. No software to buy, no IT department required to implement. Access will grow with you, and can be migrated to SQL Server or other enterprise database.
Excel - the tool of business. You use it every day. But are you really using Excel to it's potential? You may be connecting to external databases, but are you only retrieving records that you need, or do you have to still filter and manipulate data? Are your workbooks unwieldy, with too many worksheets and difficult data entry? Do you use Excel to track everything - customers, inventory, employees - and yet never have the information on hand that you need?
Outlook - or any Email software - keeps you connected. But how difficult is it to manage emails to multiple contacts? Use Word MailMerge and email attachments? DataBasics has also implemented automated email programs which process emails based on sender or recipient, parsing email information and automatically uploading that data into databases.
I would highly recommend [DataBasics] to any business looking to improve their bottom line.
